HYDERABAD: and Hyderabad-based startup, StaTwig, that has
been leveraging technology to ensure safe delivery of
Covid-19 vaccines in India, will now be using its tech
solutions to trace and track vaccines in the Latin American
region as well
The startup on Wednesday said it has partnered with LACChain
alliance to deploy this solution in the region. LACChain is
a global alliance that works towards development of the
Blockchain ecosystem in and the Caribbean.
Once StaTwig completes integration and testing of its
Blockchain solution, Vaccine Ledger, on LACChain’s platform,
both the entities would jointly approach authorities across
26 countries in Latin America to roll out this solution. The
integration and testing is expected to be completed in one
month’s time, it said. StaTwig’s Vaccine Ledger captures
serial numbers, expiry dates, other manufacturing data using
2D Bar codes and uses them to scan the vaccines at various
touch points along the journey of the vaccine.
As part of this agreement, StaTwig and LACChain will
exchange information on their Blockchain-based services,
promote the use of the LACChain network and the StaTwig
solution for vaccine traceability and develop of new
materials, tools and concepts such as Blockchain
infrastructure and digital identity of every vaccine vial.
Commenting on the development, Sid Chakravarthy, founder and
CEO, StaTwig said, “Our solution, Vaccine Ledger deployed
over the LACChain network will make it easy for different
stakeholders such as manufacturers, health departments and
other key organisations to participate and collaborate over
one single decentralised network. As these organisations can
join the network at any time this makes the solution very
easy to adopt and scale.” Alejandro Pardo Vegezzi, leader of
LACChain said, “Never before has it been more important to
maintain and ensure trust in the distribution chain to
combat a global problem, we are pleased to welcome StaTwig
as a partner, its implementation in the LACChain network
reflects confidence in our infrastructure, which is expected
to have an impact on millions of people and improve process
efficiency.”
